What role you will play in our team

 

The Branch System Engineer will be responsible to design, build, and maintain the internal platforms and infrastructure that support software development, deployment, engineering and operations for Branch / Edge IT infrastructure (Primarily Network, but inclusive of Compute and Storage). They are responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining our sites by providing stable, secure, and scalable platforms. The core focus of Branch Systems are automation and observability platforms that provide the foundation for Site Reliability Engineering practices.

What you will do

 

Responsible for  building and maintaining network systems for employee usage. These systems include technologies such as Network Virtualization, SD-WAN, Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), intranets, and extranets.
The role requires strong skills in designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting network infrastructure. Must stay current with the latest developments in network technologies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Reliability: Maintain and optimize network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
• Automation Development: Design, implement, and manage automation workflows for tasks such as device onboarding, configuration compliance, and auto-remediation.
• Monitoring & Alerting: Develop and maintain/integrate monitoring systems to detect anomalies, enforce compliance, and trigger automated responses.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure network devices adhere to security and configuration standards through automated checks and remediation.
• Continuous Improvement: Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for automation and reliability enhancements.

About You

 

Skills and Qualifications
 

• University degree with emphasis in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Network or a closely related field with course work in technology-related subjects
• 5+ years proven experience in network design, deployment & automation.

• Mandatory - Skilled in network automation, with hands-on experience using tools such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform, supported by strong coding capabilities.

• Mandatory - Proficient in using version control systems, particularly Git, for managing infrastructure-as-code and automation scripts.

• Mandatory - Observability: Experience with observability and logging tools to track system health and performance, familiarity with SRE, SLO/SLIs, Golden Signals, MELT, USE method. Preference for experience with Datadog

• Proficient in network deployments, including routing and switching; experience with wireless and firewall technologies is a plus.

• Strong network knowledge (Cisco/Juniper) - LAN and WAN network equipment and environments, analysis, routing, switching, wireless will be beneficial.

• Strong knowledge of BGP protocol and routing will be beneficial.

• Strong knowledge in network transport VSAT, MAN, MPLS/IPVPN technology and network management QoS features, DNS, DHCP, SNMP will be beneficial.

• Proven expertise in global network design and implementation of advanced network technologies will be beneficial.
