What role you will play in team

 

The Lease Accounting Supervisor serves as the highest-level lease accounting specialist, providing strategic guidance on complex lease transactions, financial reporting, and global integration projects. Liase with Accounting Policy to ensure compliance with ASC 842 (US GAAP) and IFRS16 (International) and EM Accounting Manual supporting senior stakeholders, and drives business/corporate value. This position requires deep expertise in lease accounting standards ASC 842 and IFRS16, cross-functional collaboration and business advisory capabilities.

 

What you will do

 

  • Pivotal role as the lead technical expert on lease accounting system and E2E process, ensuring compliance with lease accounting standards – ASC 842 (US GAAP) and IFRS 16 (International) and innovatively leverage modernized analytic tools to provide insightful data to support business decision
  • Closely liaise with the Accounting Policy team to stay updated on lease accounting standards; ASC 842 (US GAAP) and IFRS 16 (International) and support the Accounting Policy team on global projects and initiatives
  • Provide Lease Accounting oversight, guidance and solutions to lease accounting process and issues to drive Global standards and improvements including supporting business initiatives
  • Lead and act as business partnership to provide strategic advisory to finance leadership, procurement, and business on lease decisions to thrive corporate value
  • Lead global response to SOX review, Audits and UIAs
  • Lead, develop and conduct in-house expertise training for knowledge sustainment
  • Proficiency in lease accounting system technicalities, supporting the business in reviewing and interpreting lease agreement classifications, ensuring compliance with ASC 842 (US GAAP) and IFRS 16 (international). Collaborate closely with the Accounting Policy team to ensure consistent interpretation
  • Advocate Procurement/Business to understand fundamental of Lease Accounting Standard and EM Accounting Policy requirements and implications
  • Collaborate with Procurement/Business to manage and maintain lease contracts in Lease Accounting System; ROU asset and Lease Liability inception; Amortization; Interest Accretion; Pseudo Payment; Asset Retirement; Modifications Steward and coordinate lease contract renewals and cancellations and book respective accounting entries
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 842 lease accounting standard (US GAAP) and IFRS16 international accounting standard
  • Ensure lease transactions are properly recorded in Ledger for US GAAP and IFRS or Local Book where applicable
  • Act as business partner and innovatively leverage modernized data-driven tools to provide insightful lease data to support business decision-making as well as improve end-to-end (E2E) Lease Process from business to financial statement.

About you

 

Required Skills and qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field  from a recognized university scoring GPA 6.0 and above
  • Minimum 7 Years of experience in Lease Accounting / Finance activities
  • Strong knowledge of Lease accounting standards & Understand Lease accounting principles, practices
  • Fluent English skills due to high interaction with internal and external partners
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Resilience, flexibility, and agility
  • Good experience in understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Good experience with any accounting system like SAP, Group Reporting , Blackline, Workiva or analytics tools such as Power BI
