What role you will play in our team

 

The Joint Interest Accounting Analyst will be responsible for the administration and compliance of Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) Accounting provisions, timely and accurate recording of advance billings, and performing variance analysis on JV billings. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

 

What you will do

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Administer and ensure compliance with JOA Accounting provisions for ExxonMobil operated producing fields
  • Timely and accurately record advance billings (Cash Calls / Operating advances) to working interest partners
  • Interpret and comply with new or amended provisions to the standard JOA Accounting Provisions
  • Perform variance analysis on selected JV billings
  • Record required monthly FI entries and update recurring entries for manual overhead and payroll burden adjustments
  • Review joint venture carried interest reports and prepare and issue reports to carried interest owners
  • Calculate and declare payout on carried interest accounts
  • Analyze and record monthly advance billings (operating cash calls)
  • Prepare and submit quarterly relocation charges
  • Check penalties of new carried interest cases as needed
  • Serve as Account Custodian for Account Reconciliation and ensure compliance with BSAM
  • Facilitate working interest ownership changes
  • Respond to owner inquiries and JV audit inquiries
  • Facilitate property sales package requests
  • Participate in SAP Regression Testing
  • Monitor Net Profit accounts and clear accounts when necessary
  • Respond to JV related information requests from various cross-functional departments
  • Provide well count data for General Liability Insurance and submit charges to related partners
  • Execute billable revenue analysis
  • Verify statements for payout wells are calculated correctly and in agreement with contract terms

 

About You

 

Required Skills and qualifications :

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize digital tools and technologies in accounting and finance contexts
  • Knowledge in at least 2 systems or tools such as SAP, Group Reporting, Blackline, Energy Link, Workiva, Power BI or Dashboards will be a distinguishing factor
  • Proficiency in SAP, Excel, Power BI, and other analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and creative thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
