What role you will play in our team

Characterize and predict porosity, permeability, water saturation and geo-mechanical properties of reservoirs using petrographic techniques to support development and production business decisions.

What you will do

  • Integrate Petrography, Petro physics and other rock evaluation methods to analyze reservoir quality in penetrated formations,
  • Assess geologic controls on reservoir quality and predict away from well control in data-rich areas,
  • Identify regional sediment supply systems, evaluate genetic controls on reservoir storage capacity and cementation history to high-grade and estimate chance of adequacy for regions with favorable porosity and permeability characteristics in data poor areas
  • Contribute to data-collection protocols for new wells
  • Provide rock-property measurements and predictions within a regional geologic context for petro physical and geo-mechanical workflows

About You

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum Five years of relevant industrial experience in subsurface domain
  • Master’s or Ph.D degree with minimum 7.0 GPA or equivalent from a recognized university in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering or Physics
  • Demonstrate ability to collate, quality-check, and integrate the following to evaluate controls on reservoir quality:
  • Routine and special core analyses
  • Compositional data (petrography, point-counts, XRF/XRD/EDS, MICP, GRI)
  • Textural and fabric information (optical and electron optical petrography)
  • Standard wireline petro physical interpretations with core descriptions, geologic/stratigraphic framework, geo-mechanical measurements and burial/thermal/geochemical/pressure histories

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • Identifying, mapping, and quantifying paleo-sediment supply systems; evaluating source-to-sink mass balance; predicting volume and character of sediment supply as a function of hinterland environmental conditions.
  • Identifying and evaluating production in the water column, mechanisms of sediment supply, and diagenetic modification processes (both pre- and post-compaction).
