What role you will play in our team

You will be involved in supporting core business activities in the Petroleum Geochemistry Group for Exploration, Development, Production and Low Carbon Solutions.

What you will do

  • Evaluate hydrocarbon source rock presence, quality, type, maturation, hydrocarbon (HC) generation potential, kinetics, and HC migration.
  • Identify the presence of migrated HCs in sediments, cuttings, cores, and fluid inclusions.
  • Evaluate the origin (source facies or age), maturity, level of alteration (biodegradation or contamination) of HC fluids, assess oil-oil, oil-source rock correlation; petroleum systems analysis
  • Analyze pressure-volume-temperature-composition (PVTX) properties of fluids and integrate with available geochemical data to understand controls on fluid properties; pre-drill prediction of commodities and fluid property.
  • Integrate Exploration geochemistry data for basin modelling, petroleum system analysis, and play element assessment
  • Evaluate static and dynamic reservoir fluid connectivity
  • Model production allocation of oils from conventional and unconventional assets
  • Integrate production geochemistry data with reservoir geo models, 4D seismic, production surveillance, hydraulic fracture models, well and reservoir engineering
  • Model rock-fluid and fluid-fluid chemical interactions for carbon sequestration
  • QA/QC external and internal analytical data, vendors and partners’ reports
  • Improve PG workflow, capability, and competitiveness including but not limited to analytical geochemistry, molecular geochemistry, geochemical modelling, database digitization, and workflow automation
  • Evaluate emerging techniques (internal and external) and applications across the value chain
  • Mentor junior professionals
  • Plan and execute business focused projects, deliver project reports on time, translate technical work into business strategy & recommendations.
