ExxonMobil’s affiliates in India supporting the Product Solutions business engage in the marketing, sales and distribution of performance as well as specialty products across chemicals and lubricants businesses. The India planning teams are also embedded with global business units for business planning and analytics.
ExxonMobil’s LNG affiliate in India supporting the upstream business provides consultant services for other ExxonMobil upstream affiliates and conducts LNG market-development activities.

What role you will play in our team
- This role focuses on how the business leverages and consumes GIS technologies within business solutions. It is the responsibility of this role to apply extensive knowledge of GIS technology to business objectives. The Geospatial Business Development II role serves as consultants or advisors to the business and usually work within one or more business units to achieve both short and long term business strategies and initiatives. This role requires expertise and experience in other geospatial/spatial analytics related job roles.
- Spatial Analytics utilizes geographic properties to generate further insight from data through the use, support and application of Geographic Information Systems at ExxonMobil. Members of this role will utilize multiple GIS applications to develop, maintain and distribute spatial information such as relationships, shape, size, impact and distribution. A Spatial Specialist professional is familiar with the basic geography and cartography concepts. This role understands how to perform GIS analysis, modeling and reporting to support decision making and demonstrate the use and basic operations of GIS software and associated web-based applications. This job role has strong emphasis on learning how to use the applications (e.g. ArcGIS) and how to create content within the applications.
What you will do
- Support with management of change, specifically to evangelize the value that Geographic Information System brings to the Environmental and Property Solutions organization
- Drive enhancements to existing applications
- Provide training and building networks and relationships with other Geographic Information System groups within the company
- Build and maintain a solid relationship with ESRI and other Geographic Information System providers
- Scanning the external market for new imagery (Satellite providers)
- Perform individually or as part of a broader team, cross domain
- GeoSpatial implementations and consulting
- Apply domain knowledge to advance spatial technology awareness, utilization.
- Produce maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data. Digitize and edit geographic features to maintain spatial relationships using topology. Ability to geo-reference rasters and CAD data and rectify output.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum 6.5 CGPA
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the relevant field
- Ability to acquire, load and format spatial data for use in GIS related technology that is from dwg, dgn, dxf, or kml
- Ability to change input variables, perform situational analysis on the different impacts and summarize conclusions, write and execute basic database queries.
- Solve problems related to the differences of datums, coordinate reference systems or projections and how to recognize and convert between them. Familiar with data governance, compliance, data quality and business rules.
- Publish and manage web maps and services for web mapping applications.
- Understanding project requirement gathering for SWI and large projects
