What role you will play in our team
As an experienced Air Emissions Engineer, you will be part of the global Environmental Engineering department, ExxonMobil. You will contribute to generating business value for the company through improvement activities, operational troubleshooting, and project support in an open, innovative, and collaborative environment with high quality, capital efficient analyses. You will provide engineering expertise to support our global operations including new projects and technology reviews focusing on air emissions estimating, monitoring, and control technologies.
What you will do
- Develop guidance and tools for estimating and measuring air emissions from sources across ExxonMobil global operations.
- Support facilities operations: Provide troubleshooting and operating guidance for air emissions control technology at Oil and Gas and Petrochemical facilities.
- Develop strategies for the selection of air emissions and control technology for projects at Oil and Gas and Petrochemical facilities that meet economic, regulatory, and sustainability targets.
- Collaborate with other global technology experts and project teams to evaluate, develop, and deploy air emissions estimating, measurement, and control technologies.
- Support project development: design, development, engineering, and start-up of new and/or modified facilities.
- Proactive collaboration and contribution to assigned teams including technical guidance and mentoring to engineers working on air-related initiatives.
- Visits to operating sites and other international travel may be required.
About You
Skills and Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher in Environmental, Chemical or Civil Engineering from AICTE recognized university.
- Minimum 8 years of experience developing air emissions estimates, emissions monitoring, and/or controls solutions, preferably for the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Industrial sector.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Environmental Engineering, Process Design, Engineering, Technical Services roles in either Upstream Oil and Gas, Refinery, Downstream Petrochemical or Low Carbon solutions industry.
- Authorization to work in India.
- Candidates must be willing and able to travel or relocate as required, including internationally.
- Problem solving skills: Identify and implement improvements and apply broad technical and business skills and expertise to solve complex problems.
- English fluency a must; oil & gas industry experience preferred.
- Flexibility to support a global team, including virtual meetings in mornings and evenings.
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.

Functional Competencies:
- Effective interface management skills to help incorporate input from various technical specialties into design deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience in operating, designing, and/or troubleshooting air emissions control technology (i.e., Flare, Selective Catalytic Reduction, Wet Gas Scrubbers, Electrostatic Precipitators).
- Demonstrated knowledge in estimating and measuring of air emissions and monitoring programs/technology such as CEMS, PEMS, OGI from Oil and Gas and Petrochemical facilities.
- Technical support for one or more facilities involving areas such as Refining Processes, Chemical Processes, Hydrogen & Ammonia generation, Carbon capture & sequestration, FPSO, FPU, FLNG and FSRU, LNG Liquefaction & Regasification facilities.
- Design new process equipment and evaluate existing equipment to ensure compliance with modified operating parameters.
- Preferred Experience in planning and executing brownfield modifications & major upgrades to existing facilities.
