ExxonMobil markets a variety of petrochemicals in China to meet the growing needs for a broad range of applications in packaging, automotive, industrial and consumer goods as well as hygiene and personal care products. 

 

What you will do

 

  • Monitor and survey existing and under development product sustainability (PS) regulations in Region
  • Understand regulatory trends and targets for PS  regulations
  • Coordinate with the business the valuation of the business impacts related to PS regulations
  • Together with the businesses and the sustainability central organization define priorities and objectives
  • Lead the adjustment of the regulatory PS corporate strategy to the region
  • Under guidance of the Regional Plastics Waste  Issue Management Team (PW IMT) manager, lead the PW IMT establishment and maintenance
  • Identify together with the PW IMT the different PS regulatory advocacy issues 
  • Coordinate the development and approval of the advocacy plans for the different issues
  • Coordinate and monitor through the PW IMT the advocacy plans implementation
  • Reporting to the PW IMT regional manager, prepare and coordinate the regional PW IMT meetings  
  • Fully manage the issues for which he/she is the issue manager
  • Represent ExxonMobil in Industry Associations 
  • Provide input and when assigned develop or adjust corporate PS regulatory positions
  • Help new products development to understand future trends related to PS regulations 
  • Interface with other Functions/Businesses to ensure effective & efficient information exchange

About you

 

  • Typically 10+ years of experience in advocacy roles  
  • Leadership skills to lead PW IMTs teams as well as project teams e.j. UNEA-5
  • Responsibilities that establish good communication, influencing without authority, and analytical skills, combined with a high level of self-management ability
  • High autonomy in taking initiative and decision with respect to socio-ecological regulations
  • Team-working skills
  • Good business and product knowledge
  • Development on position papers e.g. Single use plastics, eco-design
  • Representing EM on Trade Associations e.g. VCI
  • Supervisory experience beneficial e.g. as administrative supervisor of PS&RA assistant
  • Working with people from different cultural backgrounds and languages
  • Responsibilities include exposure to functions outside Chemical such as GBU, manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, EMBSI, EMIT, FL&S, and R&S
