Pre-employment Testing


This Operations and Mechanical (O&M) position requires pre-employment testing.  After applying, candidates will receive the Assessment via email. Please check all email folders (i.e. inbox, spam, etc.) to ensure that you do not miss this communication. Candidates should complete the Assessment by Monday, September 20, 2021.  If you completed the Phase I test within the last 365 days you do not need to retest.  Your test scores will be transferred to the new requisition.

Job Role Summary


  • Collaborate with small and large teams to efficiently execute R&D program projects
  • Responsible for maintaining safe operations and reliable operation of R&D testing equipment
  • Support construction and maintenance activities for technology pilot units, labs, and other site facilities.
  • Mentor and provide work direction to others less experienced. 
  • Job work schedule options include 5x8 or 4x10 hourly day shift including call outs, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Job will be located at ExxonMobil Chemical Baytown Technology & Engineering Complex in Baytown TX.

Primary Job Functions


  • Administer procurement activities for site operations services (Purchase Requisitions, Goods receipt (GR), Service Entry Sheet (SES), Controls compliance. Work with Suppliers, Payables and Clients to troubleshoot Requisitions/GR/SES issues
  • Understands the requirements and executes assigned work in accordance with the Site Safety Standards, Mechanical & Electrical Work Practices, Work Permit system, Operation Integrity Management System (OIMS) & Global Reliability System (GRS) requirements with a safety, reliability, and integrity.
  • Perform pre-task preparations for his / her assigned work. (e.g., procedures, permits, JLAs, tools, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Provide accurate task status to First Line Supervisor (FLS), close out the daily permits with necessary feedback to Operations and update maintenance history in SAP as applicable.
  • Complete assigned training modules timely and stay current in his craft knowledge.
  • Proactively coach, mentor and communicate with Team on Safety / Quality / Productivity concerns or issues.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and ongoing proficiency in all aspects of the work carried out.
  • Collaborate with planning and execution teams
  • Anticipate and address safety / reliability issues. Escalates to FLS as needed.
  • Actively seeks out and captures efficiencies during the execution of work. 
  • Safe work execution via LPS tools
