Job Role Summary

 

Advance research and develop new analytical technologies and methodologies to solve complex technical and scientific problems with creative and independent scientific thinking. Independently drive and lead scientific, strategic and operational aspects of studies to completion.

 

Primary Functions

 

•    Utilize analytical capabilities to advance research program by meeting key program deliverables
•    Provide technical expertise in supporting established test methods as test method owner
•    Contribute to publications/patents by conducting independent research and collaboratively within multidisciplinary matrix environment.
•    Operate effectively in a multidisciplinary matrix research environment, providing leadership and insight in the discipline. 
•    Remain current in the field of chromatography/ separation through literature, scientific meetings, and seminars.

Job Requirements

 

•    Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Material Science, or related fields; with 2+ years' experience in chromatography method developments and separation sciences. 
•    Advanced chromatography skills 
      o    Gas chromatography (GC, 2DGC, GC-MS)
      o    Liquid chromatography (HPLC and LC-MS)
      o    Separation sciences
•    Advanced understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices of Analytical Chemistry is required. 
•    Excellent problem solving skills to assist in trouble shooting for sample, method or equipment issues.
•    Strong interpersonal skills such as communication, initiative, adaptable, positive attitude, and team building.
•    Highly self-motivated, with excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and communication (oral and written) skills.

Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

 

•    Work experience in Chemical industry or research laboratories preferred.
•    Experience and understanding of Chemicals products, properties/ structure relationship preferred. 
•    Other separation knowledge such as Gel Permeation Chromatography, Ion Exchange Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry preferred. 
•    Advanced data processing skills, statistical analysis, and programing skills preferred 
•    Track record in poster and oral presentations in major conferences. 
•    Track record in publications of technical articles.
•    Flexibility, curiosity and openness for new projects and responsibilities.
