Marine Container Specialist

Job Role Summary


  • Drive operational excellence, manage operational issues (i.e. Destination country specific requirements, Trade regulations, etc.), processes and service level compliance, on time delivery, communication to Customer Service and Sales.
  • Complement Global Marine Container Team and working co-located with customer service to improve customer experience.

Job Role Responsibilities


  • Manage shipment operation, includes but not limited to escalation / issues to enable on time delivery
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders and customer service
  • Review freight booking report, booking timeliness and documentation
  • Identify operation challenges and propose solutions to mitigate business impact, including interregional shipments
  • Handle Customer Feedback on global shipment to AP region
  • Highlight business requirement i.e. new services, volume increases, etc. to allow timely management of change
  • Support training, best practice sharing, knowledge center and ensure process compliance
  • Support SAP processes and capture benefit of On Time Delivery
  • Interface with trade regulation advisor to support destination clearance issues
  • Flexible to work adhoc non-standard work hours (14:00 – 23:00)


Required Skills and Knowledge


  • Bachelor or Master Degree with strong academic background (Business related field is preferably)
  • Fluency in English communication: TOEIC 800+, TOEFL iBT 98+, or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in supply chain/logistics in containerized shipping industry – preferably in trade, operations or customer service
  • Strong issue management skills, interface and communication skills
  • Operational knowledge in SAP / GT Nexus will be an additional advantage
