Logistics Transportation Specialist

Job Role Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for daily monitoring and troubleshooting of Transport Management (TM) activities (planning, freight order tendering, creation of delivery and shipment)
  • Focal point for logistics operational escalation, Customer Service, Carrier and Warehouse/Terminal relationship management
  • Follow up and troubleshoot with AP Procurement on Rate table setup issues resulting freight rates discrepancy
  • Assist Logistics Services Report (LSR) payment discrepancies troubleshooting with Logistics & Distribution (L&D), Invoice Specialist & Asia Pacific Payables
  • Provide analyses and solutions to mitigate potential issues impact on the customers
  • Advises Customer Service Professionals (CSPs) in case of late deliveries or missed deliveries as well as alternate carrier/quantity change if necessary; troubleshoot other carrier’s issues as turndowns, supply point changes etc.
  • Locate carriers to cover rush shipments; follow-up to ensure the order is received and executed by carrier
  • Contacts carriers to understand missed/late deliveries and reschedule
  • May provide support with regards to slot management (Transporeon) - booking and troubleshooting (interface with loading site)
  • Request proof of delivery (PoD) if necessary by CSPs/customers
  • Follow-up on Product Returns from logistic point of view
  • Order Size Guidelines (OSG) maintenance including changes in carrier or in Mode of Transport (MoT), update and maintain OSG tables, monitoring/coordinating of compliance with optimum quantity
  • Establish new supply point to ship-to truck routes, maintain truck carriers route masters in GEMs (Global Enterprise Management Solutions software for SAP user)
  • For new supply point & ship-to, to check with Global Customer Service (GCS)/ sales/ L&D, if confirms to be regular shipping points (by Tzones/ postal code/ ship-to), request new rates from Procurement
  • For PRC and Japan, to submit Procurement Information Sheet (PIS) to Procurement (PRC & Japan only)
  • Provide a cold eye review to Procurement when a new rate/ new structure is being maintained in TM
  • Request TM master data related changes to Data, Analytics and Systems (DAS) (transportation lanes and zones, vehicle resources, incompatibilities, business partners)
  • Systems interface monitoring and troubleshooting non IT, data  and processing related issues, testing of TM fixes and enhancements, escalation of the issue to DAS organization
  • Support management of change with respect to logistics strategies
  • Support and back up other team members during vacation, sick leave and/or peak period
  • Carry out the responsibilities with a high degree of autonomy, full ownership and focus on details
  • Depending on the group priorities and needs, role is not limited to above mentioned activities

 

Required Skills and Knowledge

 

  • Experience in Logistics or Supply Chain
  • TOEIC at least 800 or IELTS at least 6.5
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Very good systems knowledge
  • Problem solving and analytical capability
  • Adaptability to time pressures and changing priorities

  • Capable to perform with a high degree of autonomy
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills
