Job Role Summary

 

  • The Quality Assurance Supervisor (QAS) monitors, verifies and audits Procurement activities executed by a third party inspector in a vendor shop.  The QAS provides quality assurance technical expertise to assist the internal clients (manufacturing sites / production units) to ensure that equipment and materials supplied to the job site meet all purchase order, specification and statutory requirements. 

Job Role Responsibilities

 

  • Review and development of the inspection assignment to third-party agencies, inspectors and ExxonMobil Affiliate personnel.
  • Interface with customer as needed for clarifications, specification requirements, equipment criticality, issues/concerns
  • Review, interview and qualify new inspectors
  • Selects agency inspector qualified to inspect the commodity for the assignment based on qualifications and proximity to vendor
  • Develop instructions to Inspector based on customer’s purchase specifications, equipment criticality and owner’s issues/concerns
  • Develop a cost estimate for the order assignment and manage the budget through closure of assignment
  • Review inspection reports, follow-up with inspector and alert customer of any issues as needed
  • Effectively supervise and evaluate contract inspectors.  Document inspector performance on inspector appraisal form
  • Capture vendor performance on Vendor Evaluation form.
  • Periodically assess QA process against controls documented and compliance with Global QA procedures.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in responsible roles in Procurement of quality surveillance / inspection activities in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Working knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI and other industry standards is required
  • Extensive knowledge of welding processes, non-destructive procedures/testing, shop and field fabrication experience, is required.
  • Past or current qualification / certification in international inspection disciplines is preferred (e.g., AWS, ASNT, NACE, IEC, etc.)
  • Formal technical, quality assurance and auditor/assessor training is required.
  • Must be proficient in common PC software (MS Word, MS Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Read, write and speak fluent English with strong organization, leadership and communication skills
  • Geographical flexibility to relocate to support business needs. 
  • Available for extensive business travel (~40%).
