What role you will play in our team

 

 

As an Owner’s Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and support engineering, planning, assessments, and risk management for marine terminal facilities worldwide. The role encompasses development of integrity strategies, inspection scopes, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement plans, define specifications, design and analysis for marine terminal equipment (e.g. marine loading arms and hydraulic gangways). The role requires understanding of marine terminal operations, marine loading arms, cargo handling, hydraulic gangways and ship shore interface. 

The role is based in Bengaluru, India, and includes domestic and international travel. 

 

 

What you will do

 

 

  • Provide engineering support for marine terminal facilities including marine loading arms, hydraulic gangways, cargo transfer, ship/shore access, fire protection and pollution prevention, shore protection and dredging
  • Develop marine loading arm and hydraulic gangway integrity management strategies based on equipment component failure modes, consequence and risk in order to define risk-based inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair/replacement plans
  • Develop equipment specifications for new, replacement, and/or overhaul of marine loading arms and gangways.
  • Support capital projects scoping, front-end engineering design to detailed engineering review of contract design for marine terminal facilities to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Perform technical review and oversight for marine loading arm and gangways design and analysis performed by 3rd parties, including Quality Assurance review of calculations, drawings, and recommendations
  • Provide engineering input to equipment risk assessments, fitness for purpose assessments, and general troubleshooting efforts for marine loading arms and hydraulic gangways
  • Support technology development and qualification for marine terminal equipment/systems from concept evaluation through pilot testing and deployment
  • Contribute to development or update of company / industry standards. Incorporate industry and company learnings to ensure safe marine terminal operations.
  • Interface with business units, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations
  • This position requires domestic and international travel

 

About you - Skills and Qualifications

 

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from recognized university (with GPA 6.0 and above)
  • Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience in the field of marine loading arms (required) and hydraulic gangways (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in closely related engineering discipline from recognized university (with GPA 6.0 and above)
  • Relevant experience working with/for oil and gas industry operators on design, developing mechanical specifications of marine terminal equipment (e.g., marine loading arms and hydraulic gangways)
  • Relevant experience with integrity management, inspections, preventative maintenance, condition based strategies, fitness for service assessments of marine loading arms and hydraulic gangways
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and engineering best practices for design, inspections and maintenance and operations of marine terminal equipment (e.g., OCIMF and SIGTTO)
  • Knowledgeable of appropriate operating procedures and preventative maintenance
  • Experience working with equipment manufacturers/vendors including review of vendor’s engineering deliverables
  • Capable of reading and interpreting drawings (structural / Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) and specifications for typical marine terminal components (cargo transfer systems, loading arms, gangways, etc.)

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

 

 

  • Candidate should have strong technical and analytical skills
  • Candidate should have strong communication skills and collaboration to work in global team setting
  • Candidate should be self-motivated and focused on achieving business results
  • Willing to travel internationally to visit marine terminals and flexible in work hours
  • Knowledgeable in oil and gas industry marine terminal (dock / berth) operations (e.g., cargo transfer, berthing, mooring and ship shore interface) is strongly preferred
  • Relevant experience working with oil & gas industry operators on troubleshooting marine loading arms is highly desirable
  • Experience with sizing and layout of marine terminal structures and facilities based on ship/shore interface requirements (e.g., ship size, effective mooring layouts, gangway and loading arm or hose operating envelopes, etc.) is desired
  • Experience in assessing existing operations including procedures / facilities is desired
