India Procurement Manager (Category Management)

 

The key functional responsibility is to oversee the services and operations of the India Procurement team.  India Procurement provides extensive support and solutions to ExxonMobil India businesses on all the acquisition processes.  They include,

  • Oversee Procurement Team’s activities, accountable for bringing acquisition and its related projects to closure timely and within expected budgets
  • Provide supervision, prioritization and work direction to Procurement Associates (PAs)
  • Responsible for safety, security and controls for their group, including KPI stewardship
  • Coordinate the development and dissemination of category strategic and commercial guidance
  • Drive Business Value and meet efficiency targets for their category
  • Assist PA in complex negotiations with suppliers, and serve as liaison between PA and clients towards resolving issues
  • Manage category-specific interface with clients where appropriate
  • Assist Area Procurement Manager(s) with regional support and development / stewardship of client Procurement Integrated Plan
  • Responsible for PA career development, mentoring / coaching, training and engage in local recruiting / hiring / employee development activities

 

India Procurement Lead also assumes the oversight on overall Procurement resources / activities that operate out of the site.  This position provides functional guidance and strategic direction on all Procurement initiatives across India.  It also serves as the single point of contact for all ExxonMobil businesses within India. These responsibilities include,

 

  • Is accountable for the safety performance of all Procurement employees to achieve the Company’s goal of Nobody Gets Hurt
  • Be the point of contact for the Emergency Response and Business Continuity plan for the site
  • Oversees controls and cybersecurity compliance of the team
  • Develop the people strategy plan in line with Global Procurement One Team strategic objectives.
  • Chairperson to the Staffing & Development Committee with a focus on recruiting the right people, succession planning, career movements, coaching & mentoring, empowerment of employees, skills competency build, training and development, and recognition
  • Be inclusive in managing a diverse and talented team
  • Promote cross-functional interface and engagement of all Procurement resources in team and site initiatives
  • Represent Procurement on the Site & India Committees, e.g. cross functional Staffing & Development Level 2, Site Safety Leadership Team, etc.
  • Act as the point of contact for key operational issues and manage local client expectations

 

Requirement

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
  • At least ten years’ Procurement experience and knowledge in Purchase to Pay processes and systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work across functions
  • Committed to mentoring, coaching and people development
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills; able to influence and persuasion skill
  • Works with a General Interest mindset for the team and site
