What role you will play in our team
As Manager of the Trading Regulatory & Compliance Operations team based in Bangalore, you will lead a high-performing group of analysts supporting ExxonMobil’s global trading compliance function. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the execution of daily, monthly, and annual compliance activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, surveillance, and regulatory support across global trading operations.
This role emphasizes strategic leadership, process optimization, stakeholder engagement, and team development to uphold strong compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory standards. You will work closely with global stakeholders across Trading, Market Risk, Legal, and Risk & Control to drive operational excellence, maintain audit readiness, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What you will do
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a high-performing team of analysts based in Bangalore, driving excellence in Trading Regulatory and Compliance operations, programs, and reporting.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback, supporting individual growth and career development within the team.
- Oversee key compliance activities including trade surveillance, sanctions screening, and regulatory reporting, ensuring consistent execution across platforms.
- Ensure all deliverables meet standards for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
- Continuously monitor and enhance quality control processes, including reconciliation and data validation, to uphold compliance integrity.
- Drive standardization, automation, and documentation of regulatory and compliance operations to improve scalability and consistency.
- Lead initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency, mitigating risk, and aligning with evolving regulatory and trading environments.
- Maintain and regularly update compliance procedures, calendars, and training materials to reflect current requirements and best practices.
- Serve as the primary liaison for regional and global stakeholders on operational compliance matters.
- Support governance forums, audits, and regulatory inquiries through structured reporting and insightful analysis.
- Collaborate closely with Legal, Risk & Control, and Trading teams to ensure alignment and timely resolution of compliance issues.
- Manage the Trading Regulatory and Compliance Training Program, including scheduling, tracking, and reporting across EM GT communities.
- Review and approve KPI dashboards, compliance metrics, and escalation logs to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Deliver actionable insights and executive summaries derived from operational data to senior leadership.
- Maintain audit readiness and ensure documentation integrity across all compliance-related activities
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CAMS, FRM) preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in trading compliance, financial services operations, or regulatory reporting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of trade surveillance, sanctions programs, and financial regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex operations, and engage with global stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, and data visualization tools; familiarity with compliance systems and automation platforms.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with ExxonMobil’s Trading organization and systems.
- Experience with financial derivatives and related regulatory regimes/requirements.
- Exposure to process design, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience in managing compliance audits, controls, and training programs.
- Willing to work from early afternoon to late evening (around 10pm) supporting London trading hours.
