What role you will play in our team
The Global Trading Market Risk Valuation Analyst (GBC) supports the daily valuation and risk reporting activities for Global Trading. This role is integral to ensuring accurate commodity curve management reporting for trading portfolios. The analyst will work closely with the Trade-hub Market Risk and Trading teams to ensure robust product control operations and contribute to the continuous improvement of risk analytics and reporting processes. Based at Bangalore ExxonMobil GBC office. Willing to work from early afternoon to late evening (around 10pm) supporting London trading hours.
What you will do
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute daily product control operations including commodity curve validation to ensure completeness and accuracy and escalating discrepancies as needed.Manage curve-related incidents and system issues, coordinating with support teams to resolve disruptions and implement process efficiencies.
- Construct and maintain forward curves for traded commodities, ensuring alignment with global methodology standards. including challenging assumptions and implementing approved changes.
- Perform regular reviews and updates of exposure mapping tables to ensure consistency and accuracy across commodities and regions.
- Collaborate with Trade-hub Market Risk teams to ensure consistency and transparency in valuation methodologies and risk metrics.
- Support the development and maintenance of risk dashboards and tools to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity in risk systems by identifying and resolving discrepancies in curve inputs and trade data.
- Perform month-end close (MEC) activities, including preparation, evidence gathering, and final review to meet reporting deadlines. Participate in automation and digitalization initiatives to streamline curve management and VaR processes.
- Provide support for internal and external audits, regulatory reporting, and stewardship activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of market risk practices and ensure alignment with internal controls and compliance standards.
- Engage in cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance market risk capabilities and support business growth.
About You
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Business Economic, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 3-7 years of experience in commodity trading, financial or valuation.
- Attention to detail with a strong process execution focus.
- Strong analytical skills, and knowledge of financial instruments.
- Experience with or knowledge of financial derivatives and risk evaluation and management techniques
- Strong understanding of commodity markets and curve construction methodologies.
- Experience with VaR models and risk reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and risk analytics platforms (e.g., Endur, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a global team environment and communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Willing to work during early afternoon to late evening (around 10pm) supporting London trading hours
