Whar role you will play in team
The Cost Engineering Team is excited to welcome two new positions: Cost Engineer, and Cost Engineering Analyst. These positions will be located in the Bengaluru Global Business Center (GBC) but will report to the Cost Engineering Manager located in Houston. In your roles, you'll be responsible for supporting Commercial teams in Europe and Asia Pacific with cost and market intelligence, which is crucial to helping the organization achieve its Business Value goals. We believe your skills in cost management will be a great asset to our team and to Commercial.
You'll also be working closely with each other, the Sr. Technical Lead in Houston, and other members of the Cost Engineering Team (7 others in total spread out in different locations). We have a comprehensive onboarding program that includes various trainings and accesses to software, and a mentor will be assigned as your go-to person for any questions, so we expect that you should be able to get up to speed and start contributing rather quickly.
What you will do
- Becomes knowledgeable with assigned commercial categories
- Analyzes subcategories’ compensations structures & transaction data
- Builds appropriate cost models and applies cost intel for each subcategory
- Develops cost estimates on price subcomponent level (“should cost”)
- Analyzes changes in processes to calculate effects on overall costs (TCO)
- Identifies BV opportunities and provides negotiation leverage
- Researches the market and engages various suppliers as needed
- Collaborates with agreement owners and other analysts on OppID
- Informs decision-making process related to commercial action plans
- Refreshes existing cost models with updated market data
- Assists with team operations as needed (KPI calculations, etc.)
- Prepares and presents weekly and monthly progress reports
About you
Required Skills and Qualification :
- Bachelor’s degree of Science, preferably within one of the following specializations: BS - Data Science/ Analytics, MS in Engineering, or Supply Chain with min 5 years of relevant experience; relevant meaning consistent and recent experience in two or more of the work activities noted below
- Access Strong background in SAP and analyze contract experience using analytical and transaction data within SAP or similar ERP systems
- Data visualization tools
- Evaluates Extensive Cost Engineering/ Modelling experience in Oil & Gas and designs compensation related industries
- Analyzes subcategories’ compensations structures in Procurement agreements for both products and services& transaction data
- Designs bid evaluation models for complex bids
- Designs and builds “should cost” models
- Cost estimating
- Designs and builds formula-based price adjustment mechanism
- Conduct market research and acquire price benchmarks
- Builds appropriate cost models and applies cost intel for each subcategory
- Builds Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models and calculates the cost Develops cost estimates on price subcomponent level (“should cost”)
- Analyzes changes in processes to calculate effects on overall costs (TCO)
- Target Companies: O&G Client companies
